Butterflies

Green Comet Milkweed (Asclepias viridiflora) is found in the southeastern United States and is a host plant to the Monarch Butterfly and a nectar plant to others. The green flowers that become yellowish to purple-tinged with age, bloom from June to August and it is hardy in zones 3-9.

Sandhill Milkweed (Asclepias humistrata) is found in the southeastern United States and is a host plant to the Monarch Butterfly and nectar plant to others. The white, pink or purple flowers bloom from April to July and it is hardy in zones 8-9.

Arizona Milkweed (Asclepias angustifolia) is native to the state of Arizona and is a host plant to the Monarch Butterfly and a nectar plant to others. The white with pink or purple tinged flowers generally bloom from June to July, but can bloom anytime during the year.

Clasping Milkweed (Asclepias amplexicaulis) is native to the eastern half of the United States except for Maine and a host plant to the Monarch Butterfly and nectar plant to others. The greenish-pink, red, brown to purple flowers bloom from March to September, depending on location.
